Please let me go...
i'll leave this poem open to interpretation! (tell me ur interpretations, loves!!!!)
I want to understand…
Why I’m still here…
Why you still insist on keeping me here…
After all these years…
Locked up, tied down…
Do you enjoy watching me suffer?
Seeing my pain?
Do you drink it up like the wine in your goblet?
As you sit on your high and mighty throne sneering down at me and holding my leash?
You could release me, you know…
If you really are that powerful…
You could free me right now…
By keeping me here…
You’re only hurting us both…
I could be so much more than this…
And we both know that…
Do you like the way my eyes water and well every day,
As the fresh tears replace the dried ones, rolling down my face…
Perhaps you relish in the way my heart aches and aches,
Absorbing every rhythm, every faint and hollow beat, still there, despite everything…
As I look up at the sky, and into the distance beyond,
I could be so much more than this…
But oh no, not here. No, no, never here.
All I can do is dream and wish and think…
You claim to love me…
You say you love me…
They tell me you love me…
That only you know what’s best for me…
But I’ve always known better,
That this is not love.Love should not hurt,
Love should not agonize,
Love should never be the cause of my shrieks and cries,
Unless the cries were grief for you, then I would understand,
But all I grieve is the sanity I’ve lost clutched in your hands…
If you were really good for me…
I wouldn’t want to escape you…
If you weren’t so poison and unhealthy…
I wouldn’t be so desperate to leave…
I loathe to endure your presence,
Your endless toxicity,
And yes, please feel free to be who you are,
But far away from me…
Please just let me go,
I want to finally be free…
For the first time in my life…
I want to go home…
… to me.© Zia, 2025. All rights reserved.

This is so wonderful and tragic. It really says “I see what you’re doing to me. And I know I deserve better” And that last part…
“I want to go home… to me.”
That line… Chefs kiss. It’s so simple but powerful. You’re not just trying to escape—you’re trying to return to who you really are, and that’s… ugh it’s so terribly beautiful. Amazing work ml.

This was so beautiful zia❤️❤️❤️ It reminded me of my own piece, the cage.
I guess both of our sentiments were very much the same when we penned our pieces down.
Truly amazing!
